Speaking of topics...

Topics are used to organize the questions’ structure in the catalog. Topics group questions of the same subject or knowledge area.

New topics and questions of all available types can be added to each topic

 

Basic Path

 

01. In the General information tab, enter the required topic information.

The requested information is:

Language
Language of the topic. To add a new language, simply press New and select the language attributed to the topic.

Set as default language
When checked, this option determines that the selected language will be the default topic language.

Name
Title of the topic.

Description
Description identifying the topic subject as a question grouping agent.

02. Press the tab Security.

03. Define whether the question must inherit permissions from its parent topic.

The available options are:

Inherits permissions
When selected, determines that the permissions and restrictions assigned to the topic will be the same as the parent topic. Even when the topic inherits the permissions, it is possible to set other permissions or restrictions specific to it, in addition to those already inherited.

Does not inherit permissions
When selected, determines that the permissions and restrictions of the parent topic are not assigned to the topic.

04. In permissions, click Add to define topic access permissions.

05. Add the user name, user group, class or subject to which permissions will be defined.

06. In the displayed list, select the user, user group, class or discipline to which you wish to assign permissions.

07. In the level table, select the option that determines the permission level that will be assign to the selected item.

The available options are:

  • Reading;
  • Execution;
  • Writing;
  • Modification;
  • Exclusion;
  • Complete.

08. Press Add.

It is possible to add more than one item. When you are finished, close the window to continue the inclusion of the topic.

To change an item’s permissions, select the item and press Edit.

To remove permissions for an item, select it and press Remove.

09. Press Restrictions.

10. Click Add to add topic access restrictions.

11. Enter the user name, user group, class or discipline to which restrictions must be assigned.

12. In the displayed list, select the user name, user group, class or discipline to which you wish to assign restrictions.

13. In the level table, select the option that determines the level of restriction that will be assigned to the selected item.

The available options are:

  • Reading;
  • Execution;
  • Writing;
  • Modification;
  • Exclusion;
  • Complete.

14. Press Add.

It is possible to add more than one item. When you are finished, close the window to continue the inclusion of the topic.

To change an item’s restrictions, select the item and press Edit.

To remove the restrictions of an item, select it and press Remove.

15. Click Save; or Cancel to cancel the topic’s creation.

 

Alternative Paths

 

Edit topic

 

01. In the catalog, access the topic’s location through the structure on the table to the left.

02. In the presented list on the table on the right, select the topic to be edited.

To select the topic for editing, click the corresponding table, because when you click the link corresponding to the name, the topic is opened and its contents can be accessed, but not edited. 

03. Press Edit.

04. Change the chosen information.

Information about the displayed fields can be obtained from the basic route. 

05. Press Save or Cancel to discard the changes made, if desired.

 

Delete topic

 

01. In the catalog, access the topic’s location through the structure on the table to the left.

02. In the list displayed on the table on the right, select the topic to be deleted.

To select the topic for deletion, click the corresponding table, because when you click the link corresponding to the name, the topic is opened and its contents can be accessed, but not deleted. 

03. Press Remove.

04. In the message displayed, click Yes to confirm the topic deletion; or No to cancel the action.

 

Move topic

 

01. In the catalog, access the topic’s location through the structure on the table to the left of the window.

02. In the listing presented on the table on the right, select the topic to be moved.

To select the topic for movement, click the corresponding table, because when you click the link corresponding to the name, the topic is opened and its contents can be accessed, but not moved. 

03. Press move.

04. In the item destination, press Search.

05. In the target items window, enter the name of the location to which the topic will be moved.

06. In the listing displayed, select the site to which the topic item will be moved.

07. Press Add and close the window.

08. Press Move.

When pressing this option, the topic item is moved to the location set. 

 

Create multiple choice question in the topic

 

01. Access the topic in which the multiple choice question will be created.

02. Press New.

03. Click Multiple choice question.

Create objective/drop-down list question in the topic

 

01. Access the topic in which the objective/drop-down list question will be created.

02. Press New.

03. Click Objective/drop-down list question.

By selecting this option, a window appears to include objective/drop-down list questions. Find more information on available actions in Objective/drop-down list question

 

Create fill-in-the-blank question in the topic

 

01. Access the topic in which the fill-in-the-blank question will be created.

02. Press New.

03. Click Fill-in-the-blank question.

By selecting this option, a window appears to include fill-in-the-blank questions. Find more information on available actions in Fill-in-the-blank question

 

Create scale/value question in the topic

 

01. Access the topic in which the scale/value question will be created.

02. Press New.

03. Click Scale/value question.

Create correlation/multivalue question in the topic

 

01. Access the topic in which the correlation/multivalue question will be created.

02. Press New.

03. Click Correlation/multivalue question.

Create essay question in the topic

 

01. Access the topic in which the essay question will be created.

02. Press New.

03. Click Essay question.

Create sorting question in the topic

 

01. Access the topic in which the sorting question will be created.

02. Press New.

03. Click Sorting question.
