How to create a User Group to share settings

Product:

Microsiga Protheus

Versions:

11 and 12

Step by step:

The Groups feature lets you bring together multiple users and make it easier to assign rights, simplifying the process of maintaining and administering users.

To create a new Group, follow the procedure below:
- Access Configurator > User > Passwords > Groups.
- Click Include.

- Enter the Name and Description of the Group (mandatory). Other settings are optional. You can define several options such as user registration, access to branches, environments, etc.
- After setting all the options, click Confirm.

Once you have created the Group, follow the steps below to associate a user with this Group:
- Access Configurator > User > Passwords > Users.
- Click on the user and then Edit.

- In the User tab, click Groups.

- Double click the Group column, and click on the magnifying glass.

- Select the Group and click OK.

- In the User tab, in the Parameters section, in Group access rule, select the Prioritize or Add.

- Click Confirm.

Rules:

Prioritize:
For companies and modules
- Considers access to companies and modules set in all associated groups. Ignores the companies and modules set in the user.
- For access - If any group is configured with "Prioritize=Yes", the accesses of this group will be considered, and the accesses of the other groups will be ignored. If no group is set with “Prioritize=Yes", the accesses of the first group from the user group list will be considered.
- For menus - If a group is marked to prioritize (Prioritize=Yes), only its menus will be used; otherwise, it will use the menus of the last registered group that has access to the module.

Add:
- For companies, modules, accesses
- Adds user accesses with accesses of all groups, regardless if any is set to prioritize.
- For menus - You will use the menu of the last registered group that has access to the module. If you do not have access through the group, check the user's menu.

Access 156 - Validates group access per company/branch

When you enable this access in the user's prioritized group, you can only access the modules that are in the group that owns the company that the user is accessing. For example, if Group 01 has access only to Company 01 and to the Fixed Asset module, and Group 02 only has access to Company 02 and to the Purchase module. By accessing Protheus, if the user accesses Company 01, it will not be able to access the Purchase module, and if you access Company 02, you will not be able to access the Fixed Assets module.

Regarding the accesses, they continue to respect the rules of the Prioritize and Add options.
