They represent all the goods and rights belonging to the company, which can be valued in monetary terms and which represent present or future benefits for the company.
Assets have, simultaneously, four characteristics.
- Goods or Rights
- Property
- Measurable in monetary terms
- Present or future benefits
Within classification Assets, accounts are subdivided into other groups. According to legal requirements, goods and rights must be classified as Assets in decreasing order of liquidity level. Therefore, Assets must be divided into three groups:
