Procedures to implement compatibility programs according to the Technical Newsletter release.


Procedures for Implementation
To carry out this enhancement, apply the technical call patch previously.


WARNING - BACKUP!




Before running the compatibility program, you must:

  1. Make a backup of the product database where the compatibility program will run (directory \PROTHEUS_DATA\DATA (if version 10) or \PROTHEUS11_DATA\DATA (if version 11 or 11.5)) and of data dictionaries SXs (directory \PROTHEUS_DATA\SYSTEM (if version 10) or \PROTHEUS11_DATA\SYSTEM (if version 11 or 11.5)).
     
  2. The directories mentioned above correspond to the default installation of Protheus®. Therefore, they must be changed according to the product installed in your company.
  3. Run this routine in exclusive mode, that is, with no user logged in the system.
     
  4. If data dictionaries have customized indexes (created by the user), before running the compatibility program, make sure these indexes are identified by their nickname. If indexes need to be created by the compatibility program, they will be added from the original order installed by Protheus®. This may overwrite customized indexes if they are not identified by their nickname.
     
  5. The compatibility program must run with the Referential Integrity deactivated* (refer to http://tdn.totvs.com/display/softwaregestao/Integridade+Referencial+--+117028).

  1. In Microsiga Protheus® TOTVS Smart Client (if version 10) or Microsiga Protheus® Smart Client (if version 11), enter the compatibility program name in the Initial Program field. 
     

  1. Click OK to continue. 
     

  1. After confirmation, a screen is displayed to select the company for which the data dictionary is changed or a window is displayed to select the compatibility program. Select the company and confirm it or select the compatibility program.
     

  1. By confirming it, a warning message is displayed about the backup and the need to run the program in exclusive mode.
Confirm it to start the process. Prepare files according to the message displayed.
  1. Then, the Update Completed window is displayed with the log of all updates processed. In this update log, only the fields updated by the program are displayed. The compatibility program creates the fields that do not exist in the data dictionary yet.

  1. Click Save to save the log displayed.

  1. Click OK to finish the process.
